The acceptance applies to Caesar II, Ver. 4.10, Build 991201 and later releases. The IGE/TD/12 code is published by the Institution of Gas Engineers. It applies to the gas transmission and distribution industry in the United Kingdom and certain other locations. Coade plans to conduct an UK seminar in early 2000 to introduce the new capability.
Coade released Caesar II in March 1999. In addition to the latest piping code updates, the new version:
- Triples limits on the number of thermal, pressure, displacement and force sets.
- Expands categories for input review and edit.
- Boosts the number of load cases from 20 to 99.
- Adds more reports for fatigue analysis and cumulative damage.
- Includes new print capabilities for rendered plots (with Windows NT).
- Includes a new interface option for CCPlant/Catia, an upgraded Intergraph interface, and an updated NEMA turbine report.

The program itself dates back to the 1980s, when it was introduced as the first pipe stress program designed specifically for PCs. It introduced the use of spreadsheet-style input, which simplified the way piping models are built, modified, and verified.
The program incorporates a broad range of piping codes, as well as databases covering expansion joints, valves and flanges, and structural steel. It supports API, NEMA, WRC, AISC component evaluation; automatic spring sizing; automatic underground pipe modeling; comprehensive fiberglass piping capabilities; and API, WRC & BS5500 nozzle evaluation.
